a holiday phenomenon

New for this year: the Sugar Coma. It is commonly induced somewhere between the second and third trips to the dessert table. Symptoms include lightheadedness, giddiness, slurred speech, dizziness. Symptoms can be temporary relieved with another trip to the bar, but the only lasting remedy is sweet, glorious, uninterrupted sleep — which can unfortunately only be achieved after the Sugar Coma has worn off completely.
