breakfast time

Fortified by my new favorite, I set out for work, walking with a steady lean against the wind. I passed three men huddled in the cab of a Gentle Giant moving van, all eating their breakfasts. Down the block, construction workers sat on the curb of their job, sipping coffee and picking through their coolers. At the Dunkin Donuts-slash-Baskin Robbins, a delivery man unloaded cardboard boxes by the front door. I glanced at the labels: “Dunkin’ Bagels.” The bagels arrive in a cardboard box? I grimaced.
