hail to the tasty kake king

During freshman year orientation, I met my friend Ryno, who hailed from Philadelphia. He raved about the epicurean delights from his home town: cheesesteaks, water ice, and tasty kakes. “Tasty Kakes?” we would say, “what, like Hostess? What’s the big deal about a cheap supermarket dessert?”
Ryno isn’t one to let a query like that slide by, and sure enough, after a trip home, he came to our advisory class with several boxes of the inexplicably good cookies from Philly. Seven years later, I’ve yet to question Ryno’s judgment again, so when I spotted this little number at Shaws (10 for $10), I knew what to do.
